My Word Health is open to anyone between the ages of 0-18. And no referral is necessary.

Telehealth is the term used for health services that are provided remotely. This is most commonly delivered through video conference software, or via phone call.

At My Word Health we use a telehealth server that is encrypted. This ensures data security and adherence with Australian Privacy Policies.

Telehealth is an excellent way to access therapy services when face-to-face sessions are not available. This may be due to being located in a rural or remote location, or not being able to travel due to illness or injury.

To participate in Speech Pathology sessions via telehealth you need to have access to a computer or tablet with camera and microphone capabilities. We will email you a link to connect to our secure platform and assist you to access services this way.

Some of our services are eligible for a Medicare rebate. Please speak with our friendly team to see if this is an option for you and your child.

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is available to a person (called a participant) who has, or is suspected to have, a disability. The biggest change is that families can choose what services they need. They can move between services and can have a say in which therapists or supports best suit the individual needs of the child, adolescent or adult.

At My Word Health, we are an established therapy service that prides itself in giving families services that address their goals and will guide them in developing these goals.

There are 3 ways you can be NDIS funded

  • Agency-managed (the NDIA directly pay for your supports)
  • Plan-managed (a plan manager pays for your supports on your behalf)
  • Self-managed (you pay for your supports and are reimbursed by the NDIA)

We accept NDIS participants with a plan-managed or self-managed plan. We have therapists who can see infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children and adolescents.

At My Word Health, we endeavour to provide an individualised service. We will work with participants and their families to develop goals that are reasonable and necessary. All our goals are tailored to the specific needs of participants. We encourage you to “think outside the box” to identify what is the single most important change that will make a difference to the everyday life of your family. Ask yourself the question, “What would make things easier if only we had help?”

An LAC, or Local Area Coordinator, is an NDIS appointed representative that will help you to develop an NDIS plan. The LAC will then suggest which services in the area would best meet your needs. An LAC might recommend more than one service.

LACs in the Albury Wodonga region include:

  • Intereach – Albury (ages 0-65+)
  • Merri Health – Wodonga (ages 0-6)
  • Latrobe Community Health Service – Wodonga and Wangaratta (ages 7+)

All therapists at My Word Health have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
